The St. Jude Career Alliance Ministry in Allen, TX will present a new Expert Speaker Series during the first quarter of 2015 beginning with its weekly Wednesday morning meeting on January 7.  The DFW Metroplex-based speakers for these seven programs will provide tips on selling oneself in a job search, networking, personal brand development and strengthening emotional intelligence.

Topic:       Selling Yourself in a Job Search

Speaker:  Debbie Mrazek, President, The Sales Company, and Author: The Field Guide to Sales and I Need to Get a Job NOWMs. Mrazek's sales work spans years of taking her from customer service, inside sales, outside sales, corporate director and business owner.  Founded in 1999, Ms. Mrazek's business, The Sales Company, reflects a global community which Ms. Mrazek believes everyone must be a part of in today's world to thrive in the future.

Topic:        Conversation Starters vs Conversation Killers

Speaker:    Tim Gillett, Entrepreneur, Speaker, Radio Show Host & Creator of Rock 'n' Roll Keys to Business Success.  Tim Gillett is the creator of the "Rock 'n' Roll Keys to Business Success - Using Music, Motorcycles and Mentorship to Teach Entrepreneurs to Become Leaders in Their Industry."  In his presentations, Mr. Gillett uses lessons learned from his love for Rock 'n' Roll music, traveling an average of 30,000 miles annually on his Harley Davidson motorcycle, coaching clients and speaking to audiences.  He shares his passion for mentorship and leadership using examples from his own business experiences as well as his journeys around the country.

Speaker:   Janie Bordner, Executive Director, Dress for Success Dallas.  Dress for Success is a work force development program that is designed to provide women with the tools they need to get back to work. This worldwide program has 133 affiliates in 17 countries.  Ms. Bordner has 31 years of professional experience in directing non-profit organizations and 21 years of professional experience in program administration, human resources, financial controls and facility maintenance.

Topic:        Strengthening Your Emotional Intelligence

Speaker:    Jane Ryan, Owner and Master Coach, Jane Ryan & Associates.  Before starting Jane Ryan & Associates in 2007, Ms. Ryan became a certified emotional intelligence coach.  After years of consulting in the areas of developing and engaging global human capital to Fortune 50/500 and small high growth companies, Ms. Ryan draws upon her experience with more than 100 clients, and her extensive training with scholarly experts in human psychology, neuroleadership, emotional intelligence and organizational/individual development.  Ms. Ryan is currently a 2015 PhD Psychology candidate at Walden University and her research focus is on gender equality, leadership and creating positive social change.  Today, Ms. Ryan enjoys helping those in career and life transitions identify and achieve optimal goals for success.

Topic:        Jump Start Your Job Search

Speaker:   Jeff Morris, Founder, CareerDFW.org and CareerUSA.org.  In 2008, Mr. Morris founded CareerDFW.org, a website created to assist the unemployed and under-employed in the DFW area.  In 2012, he launched CareerUSA.org, a website to help those outside the DFW area.  Also in 2012, Mr. Morris published his first book titled What I've Learned about YOUR JOB SEARCH That You May Not Know.  In addition, Mr. Morris facilitates the North Dallas/Plano Career Focus Group which meets every Friday.  Over 850 people have found their next great opportunity while attending this group.

The St. Jude Career Alliance is a ministry helping job seekers that meets from 9 to 10:30 AM every Wednesday at St. Jude Parish in Allen, TX.  Everyone is welcome and there is no charge. 

St. Jude Catholic Church is located at 1515 North Greenville Avenue, between Exchange Parkway and Stacy Road.  Attendees should park in the northeast lot and use the entrance closest to the three flag poles.

In addition to speakers and presentations at weekly Wednesday morning meetings and Saturday morning seminars, the ministry offers training in job search skills, support groups and job hunting resources.
